I have looked at the published specifications and discussed
the benchmarks with various individuals over a period of
time but I do not claim to have perfect knowedge of the
details of their design or implementation.
The following comments are based on my observations and
impressions. I hope they are useful. If you identify
any misstatements or errors please notify me and I will

Varies the size of the database with a calculation
of the measured transactions per minute.

Has a fixed database size.

Is based on an order entry/inventory transaction.

Is based on a credit card transaction.

Allows custom code for the "front end" entry programs.

Uses Apache web server "forms" and a ".cgi" executable
for its input screens.

Allows multiple transactions (up to 15) on some input screens.

Inputs one transaction per screen.

Includes costs associated with operation of the
system for 3 years in the "system cost" amount.

Includes only the system purchase price and the
software license fees in the "system cost" amount.
